Media attachments to open in a blank window?

    Hi

We have a number of media files, mostly doc xls pdf uploaded to the server via the media upload function. We then insert those media files into new posts. I thinks it’s a bit confusing that when a medialink is clicked, then a new page appears, where the “final” link is present, and i can click this.
Isn’t it possible to skip this intermediate page, and just having the media open directly when clicking the link in the original posted message?

Isn’t it possible to edit one of the PHP files, to insert e.g. target=”_blank” so medialinks always pops up in a new tab/window, and not in the present WP window?

    br Lars
