Hi there. First try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies and see if that helps: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
Next, if you’re using the Beep Beep Boop editor, try using the classic editor in the WP-Admin dashboard under Pages ->All Pages ->Edit.
If it still won’t work, please let us know what browser and version you’re using (https://www.whatismybrowser.com/) as well as which editor. Also let us know exactly which step in the process isn’t working, e.g. is it when you click the Add Media button, when you try to upload the actual photo, etc.

Hi Kokkieh!
Thanks for your feedback. So I cleaned the cache & cookies, it still didn’t work.
I always use the editor in the Admin dashboard, I don’t use the beep beep boop editor.
I looked and I think what the prob may be is that my operating system is super old. I have a MacBook from like 2009 and it’s running Mac OS X version 10.5.8. I’ve been getting notifications that my Safari and such need to be updated. I tried to download Chrome, but I couldn’t because of how old my computer is.
It’s weird because I can use the “Add Media” button to put in photos and such on Posts, but NOT Pages… existing or new. There’s gotta be another way :( Any more suggestions or help would be awesome!
Oh…do you think if I buy the website that it would help??Thanks!

The age of your browser could be the issue, but if the button works in the post editor it should work on the page editor as well, I think. I’ll tag this for staff in case they have another suggestion. Please be patient while waiting for their reply.

Howdy Jen!
That is a bit strange that you can insert media items into posts but not pages. Could you visit the following link and let me know what version of Safari you’re using?
https://www.whatismybrowser.com/
I’d like to see if I can replicate this.

Thanks guys!!!
This is the version that I have: Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3).
I hope they can help! It’s so frustrating not being able to post :(
Thanks Again!

Hey Jen,
The good news is that I was able to test this out on Safari 5.0, and it seemed to work on my side. Now, we just need to figure out why it’s not working for you.
When you click on an image that’s already inserted into one of your posts or pages, do you see the toolbar shown here pop-up?

Thanks so much Jeremey for your assistance!
WOW, ok, so I guess I just didn’t realize that clicking on the current photo and using the tool bar to edit would allow me to change the photo to a different one! I thought that I could just change the size and such of the current photo, but when I saw the “replace” button I was able to change the photo! WHOOOHOOO :)
Now, when I go to a page like my “photos” page https://eczemaholistichealing.wordpress.com/photos/ that has my healing photos documented by monthly galleries, I’m not able to create a new gallery. I put the cursor a few lines under the latest gallery and click on “add media” and it doesn’t let me. I can go ahead and add photos to the “January” gallery, but it’s not letting me create a whole new gallery for February.
I hope I’m explaining this well…thanks again for your help!

Hi Jen,
I just took a look at your page and I was able to add new media, though it took me a minute to do so (I had to hit enter a couple of times to get it past the January gallery section). It may be that the cursor was stuck for you too on January.
I did want to mention though that you may have noticed that your photo page is getting pretty long and is starting to take a while to load. This is only going to get worse as you continue to add additional pages. It may be worthwhile for you to take a bit of time to break out year or even month galleries to other child pages under photos.
The way that you do that is you create a new page (which you could call, for example, February 2015) and on the right hand side of the page editor screen, you’ll see a section which allows you to set it to be a child of some other page. Since this is only going to be a gallery page, you would set it to be a child of the Photos page. You could then put all of your February 2015 photos there and link to it from the Photos page. When you have time, you could move the January 2015 photos to its own page, and so on backwards until the Photos page just links people to months worth of detailed photos and you maybe only have your best work on the actual photos page!
I know that this is well beyond what you wrote in for, but it was just something which I noticed so I figured I would make a suggestion. :)

Thanks for your feedback.
I’m confused…you were able to get into my editing page on the WP Admin?? How did you do that?
I’m able to click after January and get the cursor to blink for me, but still when I go to click on the “add media” button it doesn’t show anything for me, it actually just brings me all the way up to the top of the page. I’ve clicked on the “add media” button over and over, but it’s still not opening up to let me add anything.
Even when I go to make a new page (I was going to break down the photos like you suggested I was going to do a page: Photos 2014) it doesn’t let me “add media”. The cursor is in the box, and I go to click “add media” and it just brings me up to the top of the page and doesn’t open up. Even if I just hold down the “add media” button it doesn’t do anything.
It’s super annoying because now I’m not even able to use the “add media” button in a post. Greeeeeeaaaaat :( UGH.
I just found out that by using the side toolbar where it says “Media” under “posts” in the WP Admin, I can upload new images, but still I can’t place them into the dialogue box by clicking on the “add media” button.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I’m really thinking it might be because my server and such is so old. :(

any clues to why this is happening?!

Hi Jen,
In order to do our jobs, some members of Staff (employees of WordPress.com) are able to access the Dashboards of blogs which are hosted here at WordPress.com.
Back to the issue at hand though, that’s very frustrating! Can I ask you what browser version you have running right now? If you’re not sure, you can go right here: https://www.whatismybrowser.com/
Just tell me both the browser version and the version of your Mac. It may be that you need to update your browser or try a different one, but let’s see if that’s what’s going awry!

oh ok no problem, i was just surprised that you could do that! lol
so it’s definitely out of date…. it says that I currently have: Safari 5 on Mac OS X (Leopard).
I can’t even download the other browsers, Chrome, Opera and Firefox. When I do, and open up the file it just has a circle with a line through it on the app, I can’t even open it up.
Does anyone know of a free way to get the newest version of Mac OS X?? lol

Apple did start offering free upgrades to their OS to owners of older OS recently, but I’m not sure those offers go as far back as Leopard. It might be worth checking at the Apple store.
The other potential problem is if your computer came with Leopard installed, it might not be capable of running the newer OS. Still, worth having the conversation with the people at Apple.
