Hi,
thank you for your reply.
I tried 3 browsers…dissenter / Brave / Firefox with no luck.
-
Can you clarify this?
Actually ones the 1TB is in shortly there after it fails.
Sites on our servers should cap out at 200GB. Can you confirm what site you are exporting? We’ll also try exporting the site you mentioned.
-
What I meant is that with all 3 browsers, I noticed that till 1GB all data download went smoothly. Ones the 1GB was reached soon after the streaming ended and the error occurred.
I confirm that I’m exporting from the lovetruthsite.wordpress.com site.

We were able to download the file, and will email you a link with the file in two parts.
-
Could you give me a reason as to why it didn’t work ?
I would like to repeat this action a few times in the future and rather not have to
ask you guys for help everytime. It IS suppost to work isn’t it ? You mentioned yourself that…
“Sites on our servers should cap out at 200GB.”
-
You’re right. It should work. The issue could be your internet connection. You could try doing it early in the morning or late at night. Also, make sure all other devices have wifi turned off so they aren’t taking up any bandwidth. You can run a speed test via https://speedtest.net/ as well to make sure you’re getting the speeds you should be.
-
I will try that, but I have super good internet connection, and never encounter this kind of problem.
Plus I have other people trying to download it ( different continents ), and they got the same result…so I guess that internet issue doesn’t count does it…btw, no other devices are turned on. Not now, not before…
I just checked the solution/link that you’ve send over the mail, but first thing I notice is that ( despite you mentioned that the file is in 2 pieces ) the file is ONE file ?!
EXACTLY the same file ( 1.3GB ) as the other ones I tried before and didn’t work.
So, what’s going on here ? Or do I miss something ?
It’s downloading now and waiting for the result…
ok, attempts in the US didn’t work. Got broken off again…at 80% it broke.
Attempts in the EU didn’t work. Got broken off again…at 80% it broke. So, there MUST be other issues involved…
Pls advice…

Hi there,
I notice is that ( despite you mentioned that the file is in 2 pieces ) the file is ONE file ?!
It’s that one file you need to download.
Please make sure you’re not using a VPN service and I strongly recommend a download manager. You can try DownThemAll:
-
Hi,
so why are you guys speaking of two parts ? see reply #3523495
AND also mentioning if that in the mail I’ve got with the link ?Nobody’s using a VPN so that issue can’t be it either…
C’mon guys don’t you have anything better to help me out ?
I would appreciate it very much !

@lovetheworld77, I went out for some troubleshooting on this and one of our colleagues created the download for you. They mentioned it would be in two parts. I didn’t double check first. My apologies.
Are you behind any kind of proxy server?
-
Also — can you help us understand how people in different continents are accessing your backup files?
-
No, I’m not behind any proxy server.
What has my sharing with info with people I trust and help me to do with finding a solution for this problem ?
Please, I would appreciate it if you solved this matter.
Thank you.
-
@lovetheworld77 sharing which info? And how frequent are these downloads?
It’s not a standard use of backups, which is why it’s relevant. If you’re granting your login info to a bunch of random people, too, that’s a security risk.
I’m wondering if there’s a better way to do what you’re doing.
-
This is the first download.
Since I’m not computer savvy, only one person who helps me out with my blog has this link info, so that’s far from a bunch of people and for sure not a security risk.
I’m not sure what you mean with “a better way”. As long as I can download the media library it’s all good.
So I really would appreciate a solution.
Thank you.

OK. I must have misunderstood this:
Plus I have other people trying to download it ( different continents )
And this:
and never encounter this kind of problem.
For now, if you’ve never seen this issue before, I’m going to guess it’s a temporary internet issue: dropping packets, or a checksum issue with the browser as can happen with large file downloads. Sometimes, strangely enough, another browser will help.
Downloading a full media backup is resource intensive. If you’ll be doing this regularly, please send more details about your goals with frequent media backups: are you exporting to another site, for example? Just keeping a backup with the media organized in folders? etc.
If this will be an occasional thing, my guess is any packet loss issues may be resolved next time you try. But even if they aren’t, we’re happy to get the file for you and will note that in your account.
