Media Gallery changes

Please HELP !!
Apparently the developers have forced everyone adding new posts on the app and website (if using a device and not a PC) to use the “new and improved posting format”. I’ve never used this before and am having immense difficulties. The old drop-down menu is now obsolete as is adding posts using the screen I’ve used for 18 months (except on my PC – all my pics now come from my IPhone so I use devices almost always to post)
Can someone please help me with the “little mountain” icon that represents the media gallery? What happened to the functionality allowing you to decide the orientation (left, center, right) and size (thumbnail, medium, large, full)? All I see now is an option to “Insert” for single pics. On galleries, it lets you choose the type of gallery but again, no orientation and size option.
I’m spent hours on this and can no longer write a post and control the way my images go into. I like some big, some small, and various orientations. This is driving me insane and I will have to quit blogging if I can’t figure this out
Does anyone else have any similar issues? If not, please shed light for me.

Hi there, it would help to know what device you are using and whether one of the Desktop apps or one of the mobile apps.

I am using Iphone 6 and Ipad Air2. I’m not sure the difference between a desktop and a mobile app. I bought the Ipad in February and simply went to the apple app store to install the WP app. I did the same in July when we bought new Iphones. I wasn’t aware there are different versions; The only difference I see is how much fits on the screen at one time. Thanks -
Only because the mobile apps (iOS and Android) have their own support forums. There’s a link to the iOS forum on this page https://apps.wordpress.org/support/
Those forums use a different log in system than WordPress.com so if you don’t have an ORG username you can sign up for one on that forum page.

Sadly I’ve already posted there based on a previous response in this forum and only one person responded and they did not really seem to understand what I’m saying. Guess I’ll try again -

It’s unfortunate WP.com forums can’t help. This appears to be related to updates to the app. Someone suggested I logon to the webpage on devices and bypass the apps. If I do this, the same screen and functionality as the app comes up. This blows my mind since I can open 10 browsers on my PC on the webpage and get the screen I’ve always used. Some developer messed up big time by changing the app and taking away a nice easy format. The “new and improved” format” stinks, is more tedious and is not working properly ass per recent reviews on the WP app

Hi there,
The problem here is not actually with the app, but with the way the WP-Admin pages display on mobile devices. We are aware of the issue, and our developers are working on it.
I’ll update you here if I learn anything new.

I was also told the same thing on the Wp.org page so thank youThe person on the other forum sent me a link that I saved as a bookmark on my devices so I can at least use the functions that are not displaying properly

I’ve just been informed that this issue has been fixed, so you should be able to access the WP-Admin menu on your mobile devices again now.
Let us know if you still have any problems with this.
