  I am trying to add an image to the Media library. The image is a jpeg and is 2.79 Mb. I have tried several jpegs, including ones I have uploaded before successfully, none have worked. Is there a problem or has something changed in the last few months.

  Hello,

  2.79MB is quite a large file size. Most of the images already in your Media Library are around 600KB. Do you see any error messages when you try and upload the 2.79MB image? If not, what happens?

  Can you try re-uploading a smaller image, like this one:

  

  Let me know if you are able to upload a smaller image and we’ll go from there.

  Sorry I forgot to answer the other question there was no error message. When I drop the file to upload the library opens with the normal preview square open with the progress bar in the centre the bar does one of two things 1. It moves a few mm or 2. immediately goes straight across but no image appears. If I click on the square a new window appears . No image, the url of the picture and the progress bar shows a few mm of download. If I close this window I am returned to the media library but all sign of the attempted upload have disappeared.

  Thanks for the extra information. I did some testing and was able to upload a test image to your site. Let’s use this image as our test image:

  

  Please can you try the following for me:

  1. Clear your browser cache.

  There are instructions for different browsers here:

  Solve Common Browser Issues

  2. Try uploading the image using a different browser.

  3. Are you able to upload the test image to the Media Library in your WP Admin Dashboard?
