Media Library – Capacity
-
How many images or perhaps how much space – as in how many gigabytes storage do I have available for use in our WP.com website?
Do I understand correctly – WP.com owns the content of whatever is posted on our website… is this correct?
If so, then who owns the copy-write on copy-written material posted in the website? Or maybe I should ask, if I post a copy-written image on the website (with permission) then doesn’t the original owner of the copy-written material own it?
Thanks

Hi there, each plan has its own Media Library capacity:
Free 3GB
Personal 6GB
Premium 13GB
Business unlimitedIf you are resizing and optimizing your images prior to uploading them to your WordPress.com website, even the 3GB Media Library will last you for a very long time. https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/
https://wordpress.com/theme/hemingway-rewritten have a look at the bottom of that showcase page for recommended image sizes.
You own the content of your site. According to the WordPressdotcom Terms of Service https://en.wordpress.com/tos/ you give them a license to redistribute your content for the purpose of promotion. So if you have permission from someone else to use their copyrighted work on your WordPress.com website, you’ll want to make them aware of that clause in the ToS.
Hope that helps.
