Media Library Crashes, Need Clear

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! I’ve had many problems stemming from my media library which I think started with trying to upload a file that was too large. I’ve been trying to go to the library to delete all of the files, but any time I try to go to the media page (from any browser, device, etc) the page crashes. I cannot manually erase all of the images in my media library so I need them to be erased some other way. If it is possible for you to do that for me remotely, I would really appreciate it.

Okay, so I COMPLETELY redid my website after completely clearing all of my files and re-uploading the .xml given by my theme’s developer. After strenuous work of 75% of my time since I posted this yesterday, I caught myself up on the work that I had put into my website thus far, only to have the media library crash again. I even installed a new plugin to optimize my media for web so it becomes smaller in size.

Not only does my library crash, but it’s forcing the ‘clean up images’ plugin to fail as well. I cannot remove my media in any way once again without completely starting from scratch. It makes no sense why this would happen. SOMEONE please assist me, thank you.

Thus far, a temporary solution has been trying to hunt down the problem images directly after loading and then stopping the load of the media library.

You’ve reached support for the free blogs hosted at WordPress.com. The site you’ve indicated is running a self-hosted/installed version of WordPress (using the free WordPress.org software).

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. You can read more about that here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
