Media library difficulties

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I am new to wordpress and I am trying to figure it out. I have been struggling mightily with the media library component with regards to adding photos to the blog. For starters, when I upload photos it tells me always that post processing has failed. Within the media library itself I am only able to physicall see some of the photographs, and it doesnt buffer all of the photographs I know are in the folder. Additioanlly, I have an ftp set up that shows my files are being added to the folder and yet I cannot see them in the media library, I presume this is somehow all tied to one common error, and I could really use your help in sorting it out. Please let me know what I can do to make things easier.

    Juan

    Hi,

This support document may help you with how to use the media library.

    https://wordpress.com/support/media/

If you have not already done, so I would suggest reading this guide that teaches how to use WordPress.com

    https://wordpress.com/learn/

Please reply here if you need more help.

  • Hi Juan,

Are you talking about humanitarianmedicjournals.com? If so, I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere; we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/, or if the issue is related to Jetpack at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/.

http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
