@supernovia, No, 15 is better than 50, but what I’d like to know is, what’s the cost once domain hosting isn’t free anymore? Originally I would have upgraded to your Personal plan (or possibly the Freelancer) because the hosting fee was cheaper than Wix, but now I wonder if that will still be the case.

Can you clarify what you mean here? If your site is using one of our free WordPress.com domains – e.g.
takinguproom.wordpress.com– that will always remain free even with these changes both now and in the future. As we stated previously, we’ll have more updates in the near future to make our plans even more accessible and to provide more individual options.

Sure, I can do that–your plan says users get free domain hosting for a year, which I’ve always taken to mean it’s not free anymore after the first year. What’s WP’s hosting fee otherwise?
-
That is correct, you do need to pay for renewal (yearly) after the first year to keep your domain active.
If it’s a .com domain, that renewal rate is $18/yr. But it can be more or less depending on the domain extension you use. You can see a full list of the current prices for those here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/

Hey friends, thanks for all you’ve shared so far.
I think we’ve got most of this feedback surfaced, but for any further questions, would you mind sharing your thoughts here?
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/pricing-feedback/We’ve answered some of the questions you’ve shared there. We’ll be working through the comments there as well.
Having the details in one thread with a post we can update helps us locate and quantify the different requests so we can work on addressing them. I’m tagging this thread with feedback as well, but we’ll be posting updates and responses here:
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/pricing-feedback/Thanks in advance – we’ll close this thread for now.
