Media Library: Pages vs. Posts
-
I discovered that images published on Posts remain (displayed) in Posts even if their source images are deleted from the Media Library. That is not a problem as the images can be deleted from the Posts as well using the Editor. But what is confusing is that the same images, if they are also published on a Page for the same site, are automatically deleted from that Page, but only from the Page, not from the Post. Why is that?

Are you sure? It is possible you have more than one version of images in your Media Library. If you delete images from your Media Library then they no longer exist on your site to display in pages or posts. Perhaps you might be seeing cached files at your end but most people will not see those images.

Good questions, but I am as sure as several tests, with several different images on several different Posts and Pages can make me. I refreshed every Post every time I deleted a source image from the Library but every time the image remained in the Post. The cached image idea also cannot be b/c I used different browsers during the tests. But thanks for asking the questions.
