Media Library Photos Missing After Deleting Unattached Photos

    Dear WordPress Support Team,

I am writing to report an issue with my WordPress site. I have been encountering an error message that says I do not have enough storage space to add more posts with photos. In an attempt to resolve this issue, I went to my media library and deleted unattached photos. However, I now cannot find most of my photos, and the issue with adding posts with photos still persists.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you for your time and attention.

    Best regards,
    Enza Hebert

  • Hi there, @enzahebert!

It actually seems that the space issue on your site is caused by the videos uploaded to your site. You can locate these videos (about 2GB) here:

    https://enzanet.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php

Saying this, deleting other media files from your Media Library will free up space. When deleting images, remember that deleting a file from your Media library will also remove it from the post or page it is on. Deleted media files cannot be recovered. You may want to export a backup of the media library beforehand. An unattached image can still be added to a page/post, for example.

Alternatively, you may consider upgrading the plan on your site. You would get 6GB of storage on the Personal plan. You can upgrade here, if you are interested:

Let me know if you have any questions!
