  If we delete a photo from our media library that is in one of our blog posts, will it be deleted from that post as well?

  Yes, and what will be left is an ugly broken link unless you edit the post too and remove the image completely from it. Images you upload into your media library and embed into posts and pages are on wordpress.COM servers. They remain visible unless or until you delete them from your media library. Doing that removes them from every place you embedded them in the blog and leaves behind broken links.
