  I’m trying to decide if I should teach myself to write a front end to my site that allows registered users to access my media directory (I’ve got a media directory using NFS to connect to my wp-content/uploads/blah directory).

  Currently I just put a link to the directory, and it’s a basic list of files (like any other directory lacking an index.html/php file). I would like to make or find a front end, so they can use it kind of like a database driven searchable page. I have a lot of media on my media server that I use at home to stream content around my home (Using MediaTomb to my PS3, Raspberri Pi(s), tablets, phones and computers).
