media: mp3 not showing graphic in media library
-
Hi, I uploaded an mp3 to my media library. All of my other uploaded mp3s show a little musical note graphic and say “mp3”. This time it’s just showing a little blue question mark. Any idea why? The mp3 was made in the same program as all the others…

Howdy Tommy,
I’m not seeing an mp3 with that kind of graphic in your Media Library right now. Did you remove it by chance? If not, could you let me know the title so I can take a look?

Hi jeremy, the name of the file is “5 songs with sal valentino”. I’m seeing a little blue question mark in the file while in the media page. Thanks, Tommy

I’m not seeing that file in your Media Library here:
https://tommydunbarmusic.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php?mode=list
Could you click on the URL for that particular file (like this) and send over the URL?

https://5songsfromthecellar.wordpress.com. Hi Jeremy, Hope this is the right url? Thanks, Tommy

Howdy Tommy,
Thanks for that URL! I was looking at your other site tommydunbarmusic.wordpress.com.
To fix this issue, head to the following URL:
https://5songsfromthecellar.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=432&action=edit
From that URL, click the “Remove featured image” link from the bottom right-hand corner shown here:
Let me know if that works!

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks! The file looks normal now.
One other question, on this page: http://5songs.com/ I’m seeing a link under the playbar (for lack of a better word, the thing with the arrow on it). None of my other posts have the link showing under the playbar. Any idea why that’s happening?
Thanks! – Tommy -
Howdy Tommy,
To fix this, start on this page:
https://5songsfromthecellar.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=413&action=edit
Make sure you click into the Text Editor as shown here:
You should see this text:
<a href="https://5songsfromthecellar.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/sal-valentino-pic-2.jpg">[audio mp3="https://5songsfromthecellar.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/5-songs-w-sal-valentino5.mp3"] <img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-411" src="https://5songsfromthecellar.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/sal-valentino-pic-2.jpg" alt="Sal Valentino pic 2" width="300" height="201" /></a>Can you replace it with the following?
[audio mp3="https://5songsfromthecellar.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/5-songs-w-sal-valentino5.mp3"] <a href="https://5songsfromthecellar.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/sal-valentino-pic-2.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-411" src="https://5songsfromthecellar.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/sal-valentino-pic-2.jpg" alt="Sal Valentino pic 2" width="300" height="201" /></a> -
Hi Jeremy,
That worked! Since I’ll be putting up a new post every week, is there something I did wrong to make that happen? Something I should know for the future?
Thanks, Tommy

Hey Tommy,
I don’t think this is necessarily anything you did wrong. Perhaps the order that you performed the following actions triggered the error:
1. Add image
2. Add audio
3. Add link
When you did #3, you may have inadvertently highlighted the audio and the image. I would suggest doing something like this:
1. Add image
2. Add link
3. Add audio
If you continue to have trouble, please let me know!
