Media redirect error when scheduling podcast episode

I have a WordPress site that uses PowerPress for the podcast. I use Libsyn as my storage provider. Ever since WordPress updated, when I try to verify a podcast episode uploaded to Libsyn for a sheduled release, I get the following message:
Media URL exceeded redirect limit of 12 (cURL).
The links work fine to Libsyn. It has always worked fine until the update. But now, when the post is scheduled for release, I get a ‘missed scheduled post’ error message and it fails to post. I then have to log back in and update the post, at which point the post goes live and minutes later the episode appears on iTunes.
What is causing this and how can I fix this problem? I’ve updated the PHP on my web host to 7.1 (highest it offers); changed to https and updated plugins. I have no idea what is causing this problem or how to fix it.
