Media resizing

  I am trying to make a portfolio page, which I’m into art, so I’m adding the pictures,
  But, when I add the pictures to the page, it will not allow me to resize them. I click on the picture, and it will just jump to somewhere else on the screen.
  This is a VERY big issue. I also tried resizing them in the ‘text’ section of the page. It worked for some, but others, it just cropped.
  I REALLY need this problem fixed as soon as possible, Thanks
