media storage
-
Hello,
My storage space has recently (last couple of days) gone from 3GB allowed to 500MB. Because of this, my site has now got too much media – it’s on over 600MB.
On the wordpress site (https://wordpress.com/go/plan/how-wordpress-com-storage-works/#:~:text=Your%20standard%20free%20WordPress.com,plan%3A%206GB%20of%20storage%20space) it still says that free plans get 3GB of storage. It also says 3GB when you search it on google – I have screenshots if required – and I have not had any information regarding it minimising.
How come it has changed with no warning? What happens to my extra data not covered by the 0.5gb? How can you justify ruining so many people’s hobby blogs? I’ve had my blog for 6 years. Now I’ll have to transfer to a different site, because it’s just something I do for fun; I do not want to pay for it.

Hi @hollynrc,
We recently have updated our plan offerings. At the moment, new free sites have a limit of 500 MB storage, while the Pro plan offers 50 GB. This presently does not affect free sites prior to the new plan updates.
Our goal with these pricing changes is to make the benefits of WordPress.com available to more people. We’ve slashed the price of our older Business plan from $25/month to just $15/month (paid annually).
Please stay tuned! In the near future we plan to make additional updates making our plans even more accessible.

Hi, please reread my post.
I DO have a storage capacity of 500mb, and I am not a new blog. Im not able to upload anything else as I’m over the limit…
‘this presently doesn’t’ means it will in the future, I’m guessing.
