Media uploading issues

I was posting images fine until 3 days ago when suddenly my wordpress seemed to forget what a .jpg or a .png image (even small ones) are. I’m getting an error message that reads:
“The file could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported.”
tried closing browsers and restarting the PC any work around?

This is the message that I have been seeing for the past couple of days when I try to upload images on to my site. I’ve tried everything to fix it and I want to know if anybody has any clue on what to do?

I’m still getting the message to Iboogie, no work arounds found yet either. Will reply back if I do.

For some reason when I upload a picture on my Gravatar, it doesn’t show up on the site as my profile picture. Only when I hover over it. Can you help me with why it is not showing publicaly

Cannot access media. They will show up and disappear. Showing 2.+ of 3.2 space used. Stored media flashes and cannot access.

My picture doesn’t show up on my website. Instead it shows a picture of a weird purple bad that I’ve never uploaded. Can someone help with this?

I am on Day 4 or 5 of not being able to post pictures to my blog. On the 29th (as you can see above) I wrote a message asking for help to which I’ve gotten no response. Whoever is in charge here can you give us an idea of when this issue will be fixed?!

Hello everyone,
I am attempting to add some GIFs to my blog post. I have tried 4 different browsers (on chrome), have tried blocking and re-entering all plugins and extensions, played with java, and my flash is up to date.
The add media button does not appear next to the “paragraph” button like it should

I see some other people are having this problem so any help is appreciated!

OK So i made a little progress… apparently those of us getting the: 1 file (or however many your uploading) could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported…
A work around I found is to take an image file you want to upload and copy it. Then find an older image file (probably want to use the same type you intended) and paste it over top and save it (destroying the original file of course) and then try to upload it. The blog allowed me to upload the older image.
So I went deep into my Hard drive and anything over a few month’s old were able to be posted. Seems the date has something to do with it or a date is triggering a flag for an upload… so who knows but if you have a bunch of old photo’s you don’t want to keep anymore you can at least post the new ones by pasting over/saving and then it’ll allow you to upload.

It seems I too am not able to upload any PDF files, which I have been doing up until Tuesday. I now am getting the “The file could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported.” error message when I try to upload media into a blog post.
Anyone have any solutions?

I get this when I try to upload .jpeg files, which are surely supported.
Space used is at 16%

We’re clearly dealing with multiple issues here. And without any intervention from admins, we are mixing the problems together.
Exact status from my side: When uploading pictures and PDFs, everything seems ok but when upload is done, the thumbnails are corrupted. And trying to access any media file leads systematically to ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. This includes previously uploaded media.
Progress from my side: I tried the access from different countries and the error disappeared. In fact, all my media files are perfectly accessible from other countries. To be more accurate: The connection timeout errors are systematic from Lebanon, while everything works smoothly from France and from USA.
In the unfortunate absence of any admin, can you please let me know if anyone is able to reproduce a behavior similar to the one I describe ?

Hello everyone,
Just started using the WordPress app for Android. While everything looks and behaves good so far, I did find a bug (?), when trying to upload a picture to a post. While the ‘upload media’ button appears, nothing happens when you click.
It makes sense that you could upload any pictures from your ‘Picture library’ of your phone or other Android device.
Anyone else tried this or had similar issues? It would be nice to have this feature working!*Running Android version: 5.0.1
