Media Uploads

  Hi there,

  I am trying to upload a couple photos, but I can’t click on the ‘Add New’ button. It is no clickable. If I try the drop down arrow, the option to upload photos is gone. I only get add via URL. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or if there’s a setting in my computer I’m not aware of that’s causing this issue. Thanks!!

  You seem to have a number of images on your site already. Where exactly are you attemting to upload the images? In a post with the classic editor? In a post using the classic block or the image block in the wordpress editor? I see buttons saying “Add Media” not “Add new” which usually referrs to a new post or page.
  There is an “Add New” button in the Media Library. After clicking that I see a “Choose file” button.

  Thanks for responding. This is for sure a new issue for me, I have uploaded lots of photos in the past. I tried uploading a picture while I was writing a post using an image block in the WP editor, and I couldn’t add it from there. So I went to the media page. I see all of my already uploaded pictures and there’s the “add new” button, from there my choice to “choose file” is gone. I only have an option to add via URL.

  I’m certainly at a loss considering I’ve done it before, so I’m not sure what’s happening.

  Hi there,

  I checked on my end, and the Add New button at https://wordpress.com/media/myserendipity223.wordpress.com is working fine for me.

  What browser are you using, including version number?

  Check if clearing the browser cache, disabling browser add-ons, or using a completely different browser helps:

  Also please check if you can upload a file by just drag-and-dropping it from your computer into the media library (you should be able to upload files directly in the editor for new posts/pages using the drag-and-drop method as well.)

  Thank you so much Kokkieh! It looks like there’s something going on with my browser (Safari) I have the latest version, but even after clearing the cache, it didn’t work.

  I then tried it using Chrome and it worked! Thank you again. I really appreciate it.
