Hey there,
I bought a domain but my media URL directs to the old one. Please help
Can you let me know where you’re seeing this? Usually images will load from our CDN instead, for optimization, and the address will be based on the underlying free address but with “files” added. But your users shouldn’t be seeing that typically.
If you’ll share where they’re seeing it we may be able to recommend and alternative. Thanks!

Thank you for your response! I noticed that the “Download Catalogue” button doesn’t seem to have a link. Was there a link before that was accidentally removed? Could you please double-check the button to ensure it is correctly linked to the intended media file? Once this is confirmed, we can examine it more closely and provide better guidance. Appreciate your help! :)

Hmm….I still don’t see a download catalogue link.
But I can say your media files will, in most cases, be stored on the CDN with the freesiteurl.files.wordpress.com address, rather than a custom address. So users could see it if they’re watching for download URLs, but I doubt it’ll faze them since CDNs are so common these days.
Since we do need to use a CDN and since that is based on your free underlying address, do you want to maybe change that so it’s closer to your current site name? Maybe with the word agency instead? If so, we do have a way to change the underlying URL:
Every WordPress.com website has a free address that people can use to access your website, such as example.wordpress.com. This guide explains how you can change the example part of the address to something else. To change your site’s domain, visit our Change a Domain Name guide instead. Yes that could be a solution. Thank you, but I believe I already changed that, and it is still not working.
It says:
thepinkcatagency.design.blog
Default site domain

@thepinkcatagency the underlying url will show a wordpress.com based address no matter what (even if you pick a .blog subdomain.)
Would thepinkcatagency.files.wordpress.com work for you? I see you owned that and deleted it, but it’s not too late for us to restore the address if you’ll confirm. We’d need to get the site moved over there, too, which isn’t super trivial but it’s not impossible either. Let us know.
