Members upload images not to media library

We are a photographic group which has a monthly competition. At the moment we use email which is messy
Is there a way to upload images into folders in the members area not using the media library?
Ideally it would have folders for each month competition type eg. set , open ,print
Then can be recovered by the competition director from the web site.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You could also check to see whether there are any plugins that support creating Media Library folders — I don’t know any off the top of my head but someone may be able to offer some recommendations in the forums I linked to above.
