We need a good membership plug-in that will work work WordPress.com site. Any suggestions?

Hi there,
It is possible to set up a membership site or blog on WordPress.com without a plugin. To do that you will need to upgrade to our WordPress.com Premium Plan, which will unlock the “payments” block to allow you to accept membership payments.

As for membership plugins specifically, you will first need to upgrade to our Business plan (or higher) which will allow you to upload any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” of which there are many membership plugins to choose from: https://wordpress.com/plugins/tegswpdemo.wordpress.com?s=membership
As for a specific plugin recommendation, we’re not able to help as there are so many options out there and they all have different strengths and weaknesses. We don’t consider ourselves expert in this area, but I do like the review of popular plugins I found here, which comes from someone with more experience in this space.
