Membership Requires Approval?

    I want to allow signups of new members in my blog, but I want to put their membership on hold till I approve it.

    I searched the best I could, looked at the plugins, and everywhere, but I just can’t locate this.

    Hi there,
    We do not use plugins at wordpress.com and this setting is hard for most bloggers to find ->Dashboard -> Options
    scroll down to
    Membership: ____ Users must be registered and logged in to comment
    Complete the field and click “Update Options” to save.

    Also note the settings on this page -> Options -> Discussion
    scroll down to
    * A comment is held for moderation

    Before a comment appears:

    * An administrator must always approve the comment
    * Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
    * Comment author must have a previously approved comment

    If you choose the option in bold above you it’s an alternate means to achieve your end that you may prefer.
