Membership Site

I’d like for my certain pages of our blog/site to become one that only certain members of our team can see. I don’t want these team members to have to sign up for a wordpress account. Is there any way to create this? This membership will be free, but we want to have control over who can have access, so we’ll need to be able to view the person before we accept their membership.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there,

There are two primary techniques of restricting content to certain users on WordPress.com:

    1) You can use Privacy Settings to control who can view your website. If you select “Private”, only users you explicitly invite will be able to access your website. There are no provisions for restricting content any further–all users with access to your blog will be able to view all content.

    2) You can use Post Visibility to control who can access individual content items. “Private” will require you to distribute direct URLs to each post; alternately, you can use “Password Protect” to place the post behind a password. Again, there are no provisions for restricting content to particular users–content is simply restricted by who has been given the correct URL or password for the item. This is only as secure as the individual involved; if a user decides to distribute the information to someone they shouldn’t, there’s very little you can do.

Ultimately, if you’re looking for per-user access control, you may be better off looking into other content management solutions that include full-featured ACL.

Please let me know if I can be of any further help.

    Best,
    P.
