Membership, subscription…I'm clueless

Hello people ! Pretty much the title !
I have troubles understanding what I’m supposed to do when it comes to deal with users/subscribers accounts. As a visitor, well it’s pretty much a simple website.
If you subcribe to whatever offer tho, you get an account and the product/service you bought. Now, the website allows you to access more sections and pages (like a space to consult and add your own datas, a search bar…whatever) since you can now LOGIN using the account previously created during your subscription.
It’s not possible to “register” without this, an account is born during the subcription process only.
Okay. I have no idea how to achieve this. I mean, I found those :
- SUMO WooCommerce Subscription
- SUMO WooCommerce Membership
But I’m confused, which one do I need exactly to deal with Subscriptions AND accounts ? Or do I need both ? I don’t know, it’s maybe because english is not my native language, but it’s stupidly messing with my head. They both look fine for monthly fees and all regarding a product, but I’m having a hard time knowing if they allow to manage user accounts or not. Thanks, I hope I’m posting this in the right place.
