Memorial Site, please help

  I’m trying to setup a memorial site and I’ve made a mess that I can’t seem to fix. I want the menus to look like those on this page: http://johndefrancis.wordpress.com/

  I followed the instructions here http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ and then ended up with two HOME menus, so I tried to hide one of the Home pages by following these instructions http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/hide-pages/. Unfortunately, I think I deleted all of the original pages because the Hide option doesn’t work.

  When I go to the PAGES menu, I have two: HOME and GUEST BOOK. My only hide options are to make one of these the parent of the other. If I make HOME the child of GUEST BOOK, I end up with only one HOME page menu (which is what I want), but then when I click on GUEST BOOK, I get an error that says, “Not Found. Sorry, you are looking for something that isn’t here”.

  How do I fix this?

  That is a static page, not a blog post. It doesn’t have any content in it. You need to click Edit and add some content to it.
