Mentioning someone in a blog post

    I’m trying to mention other bloggers in my blog post. I want to be able to notify the other bloggers that they’ve been mentioned. How do I do that? I’ve tried the @[username] thing but it doesn’t work? Any insights?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi –

    You can create a link with their username text in the post. The link can be for their general site or blog, a specific post, or their profile.

    Let me know if you have any other questions about that.

    Currently, you can only mention other users of the blog you’re posting/commenting on.

    Hi there,

    I want to be able to notify the other bloggers that they’ve been mentioned.

    It’s not possible to notify the other bloggers that they’ve been mentioned.

    Just a suggestion it’s is possible with Twitter. When you share the Blog post and you know their Twitter Handle or another social media handle and then you mention that Handle, they will only able to see the post only if they check there notifications.

    @escapistreading I just thought I would add, you can potentially link to another blogger’s post. That’s a pingback. It can notify the other blogger and show up as a comment on the post, too.

    Just note that will only happen if all of these conditions are met:
    – the other blogger has opted to allow pingbacks
    – they have chosen to be notified of them
    – the pingback is not filtered as spam
    – the other blogger chooses to allow your pingback to appear

    Please note there are a few other conditions in which pingbacks won’t work, but for the most part if those conditions are met you should be okay using them.
