  I want to change the order of the items in the top menu, not the side bar. I only see information for the side-bar.

  I lost my original menu when I tried to create a custom menu. Please help!!!!

  When you create a custom menu you choose what to include and the order to place the items in. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-creating-sub-menus

  Thank you, the menu is back, and I was able to change the order.

  It was NOT clear at all in the instructions, at least to me, that doing what you said would change the original menu. Thank you so much. I was scared to death that I had lost all the work that our team had done.
