menu

We are trying to use the Canard theme; does that not allow for you to have 4 menus in the same primary location? It seems like we can only put one menu in each location (primary, secondary, social, footer). On the preview of Canard, though, there are multiple menus in the primary location… If this is because we don’t have a premium account, are there any other free themes that do support having multiple menus in one location?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The menu locations (primary, secondary, social, footer) are the locations in the theme where you can add a menu. However, you can have multiple menu items or links in each menu. So, for example, you can have links to a variety of different pages in the primary menu at the top of the theme. You can take a look at our Custom Menus page for more details about how to set up a menu like that.
Please let me know if you have any questions. :)

Hi,
I wanted to have multiple menus (with multiple menu items/links) in one menu location. For example, I wanted to have 3 drop down menus in the primary location and also have other menus in the social or footer location. Whenever I try to add more than one menu to one location, it just switches the two rather than adding another one on, and I can’t find anything about that on the page that you sent me. Is this a problem with the theme itself or is it something I can fix?
Thanks!

Hi there,
I think we’re crossing wires because of the terminology we’re using. When you create a menu on your Menus page, that one menu will go into one of the menu locations in your theme. (So, for example, one menu can go in the primary menu location.)
But in that one menu, you can add as many menu items (links) as you want. If you take a look at the image at the top of the Custom Menus support page, that’s one menu (in the primary menu location) with a bunch of menu items (the individual links you see). The “About Us” item in the menu has a sub-menu (that creates the dropdown) with the links to “Random Stories” and “My Pinterest Page” in it.
When you create a menu, you can add multiple links to that menu (not just one link per menu). Then, when you organize your menu, you can edit the items in your menu and use the “Move Item to Children” option to create sub-menus (dropdowns) with some of your links.
Please let me know if you still have questions or concerns about that!
