  I’m trying to create a menu bar along the top of the page under the header, but no matter what I do, my pages wont publish for me to firstly have visibility and secondly, try and apply to the header. Even though a menu bar was active on the demo of my current theme, I can only seem to add a footer menu. But even then, that doesnt work!

  To display a header navigation menu on the Illustratr theme you have to create and apply a custom menu.
