Menu Box

    I am using 2011 and have the custom design upgrade.

    My site is khanrahan.com (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    My drop down menus are white and blend in with the white ground. I want to make them stand out by changing the color. How do I do this?

    How can I change the text color in these boxes?

    Thank you.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello there,
    Staff of course do provide support for the custom design upgrade. thesacredpath is the only Volunteer currently available to assist you with CSS editing and he is a Volunteer. We Volunteers do not provide support by email.

    Hi……sorry but your note confused me a bit……. I guess the bottom line is I would like to know who can help me. Thank you for your time.

    When he has time he can take away from his paid work thesacredpath will arrive here and voluntarily help you. :)

    OK, thanks….he is a super helpful fella! Does WP have staff that helps or is it just Volunteers?

    Staff do provide CSS support and you can contact them directly by using this link. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

    This is the general color (non-hover).

    #access ul ul a {
    background: #F9F9F9;
    }

    This would be where you set the hover background color.

    #access li:hover > a, #access ul ul:hover > a, #access a:focus {
    background: #EFEFEF !important;
    }

    Hi the sacredpath,

    Thank you so much for your help. I tried entering the code into CSS using the html color code #4AA02C, but it didn’t work? I’m obviously doing something wrong. I tried inserting the html code where the # sign was as well as just into the # background section.

    Where exactly do I insert the html color code if I want the color code to be #4AA02C for the menu tabs? Do I need to use both codes if I want to change general color of the menu tabs as well as have a hover background color?

    Thank you so much!

    Best,

    Laura

    Laura, the site linked to your username is not using the same theme as the original poster in this thread. You are using Chateau. CSS is theme specific so what works for one will virtually never work for another. It takes a different solution.

    What exactly do you want to do on Chateau?

    Hi,

    Sorry, I didn’t realise CSS was theme specific! I created Static Top-Level Tabs to serve as my menus. I would like to change the font color of the tabs to a dark olive green, #667C26. I hope this is possible?

    Also, at the moment the tabs are free standing and unlike other blogs where the menu tabs stand out, there aren’t separating boxes. Is there a way to create a box around each tab?

    Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help.

    Best,

    Laura

    This changes the font color (non-hovered) but leaves the dark grey hover color on the text. To change the background color of the menu tabs edit the placeholder #CC0000 color code in the second bit.

    #menu a {
    border: none;
    color: #667C26;
    }

    #menu li {
    background-color: #CC0000;
    }
