  I’m new to WordPress. My homepage only has 2 menu’s i.e. Home and About. How do I add more i.e. biography, about the book, contact info etc….

  The “Home” item is a link to your blog front. The “About” item is a link to the static page titled About. If you only need more static pages such as the ones you mentioned, then (at least for the moment) forget all about custom menus: just go to Pages > Add New and create those pages. The menu will automatically display links to all the pages you publish.
