Menu column in Suburbia Theme

  I’m trying to build my suburbia blog to look just like the demo site and am running into an issue with the menu area. On the Suburbia site there is a black header with links in brown text in the space below. I can’t figure out how to get this to show on my blog. How do I add the black topic heading? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
