Menu Customisation

  I cant customize the ‘menu’ tab.

  It is unresponsive ever time I try. I have tried waiting and I have also tried restarting my laptop. I also tried on various web browsers.

  Hi there, just to check – was this for http://dyreklinikkennesodden.wordpress.com/ ? Are you seeing any errors come up at all, or is it just non-responsive when you try to edit it in Appearance > Editor (beta)?

  No error messages. It is just non-responsive. The rest of the website seems to work fine and getting to that page inst slow or anything.

  Hi there,

  I see your site is using one of our newer “block themes” that can be modified in our site editor (instead of the Customizer you are using now.) With this in mind, are you able to edit your menus by clicking on them here? https://wordpress.com/site-editor/dyreklinikkennesodden.wordpress.com

  I can confirm that I am able to replicate your issue and also can’t edit menus here if I try (under the menus tab) https://dyreklinikkennesodden.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php

  I’d like to collect a more info so that our developers so they can take a look, but before I do that I have a few questions.

  • Do you recall, was the initial menu created in the site editor (the one where you work with blocks directly) or in the customizer that you are not able to use now?
  • Do you always use one method (or the other) for editing your menus? Or do you switch back and forth between the two menu management methods frequently?
  • How long ago did this start happening? Do you recall what the last edit to your menu was? Did you happen to add any custom menu links or just links to pages on your site?

  Yes I can edit them from the link you sent. it was created in the site editor and then i dragged the links around to rearrange the order in the customizer various times

  i use both methods.

  it just happened and i contacted you a 2 days after retrying multiple times.

  I do not remember the last edit.

  I’m having trouble duplicating the issue, which can make it harder to solve. But I know it may be best to edit the menu in the site editor itself if possible, as the Site Editor and older menu options sometimes clash a bit. Can you share what specific edit you are hoping to make right now (adding a link, re-arranging, etc) so we can test methods and make a recommendation?

  Rearranging the order of menu, creating submenus and adding new page links .

  Hello there,

  I too am unable to replicate that behaviour – but I did notice that sometimes, changes did not save. Did you experience that? (Could very well be a red herring.)

  Do you have any browser extensions installed onto the site? Ad blockers or anything of that nature?
