Menu, Customize and Widget missing in WordPress twenty twenty four theme
-
Hello,
I want to add animation effect on my header and Navigation. I am using WordPress default theme and Menu, Customize and Widget under Appearance are missing.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I can see you have the Twenty Twenty-Four theme, which uses all the latest WordPress features, so widgets and the customizer are rather redundant now.
You can do everything you used to do with widgets with the site editor but with a lot more control and options.
We have lots of resources which cover this new way of working that you’ll find in our support docs like – https://wordpress.com/support/site-editor/
Animation effects are not something that come in the core WordPress but like with most things on WordPress, you can add code to do that. We don’t make anything ourselves at WordPress.com, but if you check in the plugins area for the word “Animation” or similar words, a few options should come up – https://wordpress.com/plugins?s=animation
“Otter Blocks” might also be another option to try as well that some people like using.

Hi wordpress,
I submitted another support request via a different thread regarding not being able to edit template pages including the existing nav bar that was previously editable in twenty twenty four theme. For some reason the block editor is not showing any blocks, which means I cannot add any content in the template page. Simply appearing is a search window with a ‘no results found’ message where the blocks are meant to appear.
Can you help? -
Hi @smoothmind1! To avoid confusion, would mind opening a new thread for your issue? We’ll reply there. Thank you!

Hello,
I am using a slideshow block which is full width on my homepage and wide width on other pages The problem I am facing is that the pictures look sharp and not pixelated on the WordPress editor but when I see on the live site the pictures gets pixelated and blurry. Size of picture is- 1920×1280 and 700kb.
-
I just checked your site and all the slideshow images on your homepage looked super sharp to me. Given that, I’m wondering if you’re experiencing a cache issue caused by connection issues.
Can you try clearing your browser cache by following the instructions below?

Oh okay, can you check the first picture also of slideshow.
This is what I am seeing on wordpress editor

And on live site the picture appears like this

Another Example
Link for WordPress Editor page- https://wordpress.com/page/aumdesignicon.in/2138

Link for live site- https://aumdesignicon.in/mps-bhiwadi/

The image on the https://aumdesignicon.in/mps-bhiwadi/ page you linked looks in the same quality it is added to the Media Library here and here, and it isn’t as sharp as some of the other images in the Media Library. So it is a good idea to upload a sharper image and add it to the slideshow.
I also noticed your site has CDN Enabler and WP-Optimize – Clean, Compress, Cache plugin that can compress images. You don’t need the CDN Enabler plugin as your site already has built-in Jetpack CDN (Image Accelerator) enabled from https://aumdesignicon.in/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack#/performance
For optimizing images, instead of a plugin, you can use our guidance here: https://wordpress.com/support/media/image-optimization/
I recommend trying the suggestions above to see which ones work best for your website.

I am sorry you are having problems with the Twenty Twenty Four theme’s block editor. It must be annoying to be unable to change the navbar or add material. Hopefully, the support crew can resolve this issue shortly. In meantime, try clearing your browser’s cache or closing any plugins that may be affected. Tell us if you figure something out or if you need further help! Null Brawl

Yes, he image looks sharp on WordPress editor page and in media. The issue I am facing is on the live site- https://aumdesignicon.in/mps-bhiwadi/
The image sort of looks blurry on the live site. My concern is the image should look same (in terms of quality) both on the editor and on live site
-
I understand your concern. I’ve reviewed the images displayed in the slideshow here: https://aumdesignicon.in/mps-bhiwadi/, and all the images are showing fine on my end with great quality.

I also took a quick look at other images, like those on the About page, and everything looks good there as well.

I’m using the Chrome browser—could you let me know which browser you’re using? I recommend trying a different browser than the one you’re currently using.
Would you also mind checking from a different network, like using mobile data?
We look forward to hearing from you!
-
Hi
I am also using the Chrome browser.
But I will check from a different network. and will update you
Thank you so much for the help.
-
I tried using mobile data but the problem still exits. Everything looks great on WordPress editor but the moment I check on the preview site the pictures go blury asshown in the screenshots above.
-
Thanks for trying that and reporting back @aumdesignicon
We’re still not seeing any noticeable difference in quality between the editor and the live page.
The original image file has dimensions of 1920 x ✕ 1080, which should be fine, but if you want to go super sharp, you could upload a higher-quality version (2500+ width) if you have access to the original, uncompressed image file. I would especially recommend this for full-width images like the ones you have here.
The other likely source would be to look into plugins further. The following active plugins on your site can affect image quality:
- Page Optimize
- WP-Optimize – Clean, Compress, Cache
I recommend deactivating those temporarily to see if the quality improves. Remember, you’ll have to clear your browser cache each time to ensure you’re seeing a freshly-loaded version of the image.
-
Okay, thank you so much
I have deactivated both the plugins. If you are not seeing any noticeable difference then users may see the same.
Let me try clearing browser cache as well.
There is one more thing regarding slideshow block. The number is on the extreme left, when I open on phone the number cuts so is there a possibilty that I can remove the number and instaed go for circular caraousel in the centre that highlights according to the site movement.

Hi
Regarding image quality I checked on other wordpress account- https://eurythmyaditi.wordpress.com/. The same images looks good in term of quality and sharpness. I am really confused as to what’s happening on this site with all the images- https://aumdesignicon.in/
-
I also noticed that the moment these pictures are deleted from Media, the live site pictures starts looking fine in terms of quality and sharpness. I dont know whats making it pixelated on live site.
