Menu header on home page
-
I managed to get a basic menu on the home page header but now it’s not showing and despite trying various ways, I can’t get a display for links to other pages…
If there are too many pages, maybe a list on the right hand side? (tall banner)WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi! You’re close actually. Head here:
https://localpeopleworldwide.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.phpPut a check in the “Primary Navigation” box and you should be good to go.
If you have other questions, just let us know. Cheers!

Well, I pushed it, pulled it, clicked it but despite previously achieving a front page menu/index I think my brain has been fogged over…
Just a header or side bar for the basics would do,
eg About, Contact, (full) Index
A site map will be needed tooCan you put these in the start up links for busy people…
Thanks

You need to set your menu titled
Me+nuas the menu your blog uses. Currently, your menu is set toPrimarywhich is not the menu you’ve been working on.Go back to the link @supernovia gave you, scroll to the bottom of the page, check the box shown here, and save your changes.

Let us know if you still have trouble.

Well, still trying to get the basic navigation links on my Home page
I just need visitors to the Home page to be able to navigate to the rest of the site with the these linked headings:
ABOUT. BLOG. CONTACT.
I can’t promote the home page if visitors cannot access the rest of the site…(I think this should be part of the first set up of all new sites)

I’m still showing your
Me+nustill has not been set as your Primary Navigation – unless you check that box and save it, it won’t show on your homepage. Also, looking at that menu in its current state, can you give us more information as to what your end goal is here? Having over 40 items on your menu is not what the menus were designed for. Instead, do you want your latest blog posts shown to new visitors rather than the landing page you have now? Was there an example website that you’re trying to emulate? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.

Yep, perhaps the 40+ pages would be better as a site map?
I’m not good with HTML. Unless it’s copy and paste addition.I need the landing page ‘Home’ to have a top header of
‘About’ ‘Blog’ ‘Contact’ Tabs. The aim is for people to add their links or recommendations etc
to the blog page
or another ‘Local people’ page?So I want the brief landing page, with top header links as sign posts.
OR even a large “Burger” menu icon – top right?
On this page: https://localpeopleworldwide.wordpress.comThanks

40+ is definitely a bit too much for most screens. If it were me, I’d list those on a page instead using a List Block https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/list-block/ and then link to that one page in your menu.
I need the landing page ‘Home’ to have a top header of
‘About’ ‘Blog’ ‘Contact’ Tabs. For that, at https://localpeopleworldwide.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php?action=locations switch the Primary Navigation assigned menu to “Home page.”
Please let us know if you have any more questions!
