Menu help

I had a fiddle with my menus last night. It wasn’t very painful !

I tried to move them to the RHS in a widget. (I reverted back to the current form underenath the header if you look now)

I saw how I could use the custom menu widget and how I could use a menu i had previously created.
A menu that I had previously created can include custom entries and/or categories and/or pages. i think.

but I did not seem to be able to get that custom menu entry to work in the widget. I have one working in the existing horizontal menu and it is the IMPORTANT one that points to HOME.

so my question is…was i missing something and should i be able to fully replicate existing horizontal menu functionality into a vertical widget based menu?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes. You just add a Custom Menu widget, select the menu from the widget pulldown, save. The only difference is that the widget cannot display dropdowns: if you include submenu items in your menu, they’ll show up as indented lists.

    thank you

the dropdown i dont thin kare important to me so that’s no problem.

so i must have been missing something when i was not able to get the custom menu entry there.

great! I will look at that again in due course.

On the dashboard, click Appearance, and then click Menus.
On the Menu page, click the Plus sign to create a new menu.
In the text box, type RHS Menu, and then click Create Menu. A new tab titled RHS will appear.
To replicate the top Menu you currently have, In the Pages section click View All.
In the checkboxes, select Home, Velvets, Finished Goods, etc.
When you have added all of the pages you want, click Add to Menu.
They will pop up in alpha order, click and drag to arrange them.
      Click Save Menu.
On the dashboard, click Appearance, and then click Widgets.
Click and drag Custom Menu widget to your Sidebar.
Add your title, and then in the Select Menu list, select RHS menu and then click Save.
      Preview your page.
      Does that work?
