menu item appearing under header image
-
There is extra text from the menu (the word ‘Home’) appearing UNDER the header image on the front page. I checked the text for the page – is doesn’t appear to be stray HTML at the beginning of the page. The word ‘Home’ is already in the navigation menu ABOVE the picture.
Also, this doesn’t happen on the other pages – only the different front page.

I’m sorry but I cannot see what you see. Please try clearing your browser cache first http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and if you still see it, then please post a screenshot. You can use http://snag.gy/ to share screenshots. Or you can use the WordPress.com guide I linked to and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

1) Cleared cache
2) Started from scratch, and here is a screenshot:

Thanks so much for checking this out.

No – you misunderstood me – it DIDN’T fix it – I just tried 1), and sent you a screenshot showing the extra ‘Welcome’ under the photo that I don’t think should be there.
Sorry – still needs fixing.

To add a tiny piece: the problem must be in something I’m doing somehow with the Twenty Twelve Theme. I just checked out the site from Safari and from Google Chrome – it is the same as in Firefox: The extra ‘Welcome’ appears under the image on all three browsers.

Unfortunately, I figured it out. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. Many of the themes seem to have decided to put the page name right under the image. They don’t put the word ‘Blog’ on the blog page, but the other pages all have their page name displayed.
Note to self: learn to write code.
Thanks – I’ll either find a theme that does it differently, or learn to modify themes.
I appreciate the help.
