  how do I add menu items where the “home | about” is located? How do I get rid of the Image and the date that is on my home page?

  How do I get rid of the Image and the date that is on my home page?

  Do you mean the word “image” and the date highlighted in red in the screenshot of your site below?

  

  If so, that info is part of your first blog post. Image means you posted it as an “image post” and the date is the date you posted the image.

  If you want to delete the whole post you can do so by following these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/

  If you want to keep the photo of President Lincoln, but remove the information listed on the top of the post, that’s possible with an upgrade package.

  If none of those options really captures what you are going for, could you tell me a bit more about what you want the page to look like? It might be easier to come up with a solution from that angle.
