Menu items help
-
I created menu items on my blog. Under the main menu, I have submenus that go directly to blog posts. However, when clicking on the menu, I cannot see all of the blog posts listed. There is no option to scroll down. So is there a way to fix it? I can also provide you with a screen shot to show what I mean.
Thank you

Hey there,

I can see most of your menu items link to individual posts. Can you let us know which menu item isn’t working as expected?
Also, have you considered using a category menu? Here’s how:

Hello,
The menu items are working, but what I meant to say was this. The submenus do not display on the screen. The screen cuts off the menu items, and cannot see or scroll down to see the sub menu items.

Hi there,
Can you give the name of a specific menu item that’s not listing everything in the submenu that should be there? What are some of the items that’s missing from that particular submenu?
Keep in mind that this might be by design – menus are not meant to be used as an index of posts published on a site. They’re meant to be used as a way for your site visitors to get to a limited number of static pages that don’t appear in your site’s feed or archives. So it’s very possible the theme is intentionally limiting the number of items that can appear in a sub-menu drop-down.
If you want to maintain an index to your posts, it would be better to use pages for that. Then you can use the Blog Posts block on each page to list posts from a specific category. You can also use the Archive block to list an index of all published posts on your site on a specific page:

Alternatively, you can add categories directly to the menu to link to your category archives. Then if someone clicks on it, they’ll be taken directly to the archive page for that particular category:

It’s the 90s edition menu item and also the 2000s, there may be other ones. As you scroll down, the screen cuts off some of the menu items. It’s hard to see it and can’t even click on the menu items. I also took a screenshot.

Hi there,
I can’t replicate that on my end. If you have a screenshot, please upload it to your site’s Media Library and we’ll be able to view it.

That is to be expected when your menu list is longer than the available viewport of the device you’re using.
On my computer which is at a higher screen resolution, the menu shows in its entirety since I have a larger viewport: screenshot
To access other menu items, you would need to scroll down the page if you’re viewing on a smaller screen. The mobile view doesn’t rely on a hover, but you would still need to scroll down the menu options.
I hope that clarifies things.
