  hi, I can’t seem to change my menu from the drop-down format (which I really don’t like) to the one that’s spread out at the top of my page for easy access to my different pages. please help! thanks in advance.

  Hi there,

  If you wish to have a menu that has a drop-down format, you can do so by creating your custom menu using sub-menu.

  Menus

  I can see you have Music, Books and Food menu items on your site. If you intend to use these pages to hold posts for each of these categories, I would suggest using Category Pages instead.
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/

  Whenever you have new posts to be published, make sure you categorized them into one of these Categories (https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/).

  Then on your menu, create a custom menu like this:

  Home
  –Music (category page as sub-menu)
  –Books (category page as sub-menu)
  –Food (category page as sub-menu)
