Menu link not working.
-
Site:
https://friendstofriendssite.wordpress.com
Click on the menu item News and it takes (at least me) into edit mode on the page. I cannot find the real name of the page. In the original site the menu link was to a Blog page, but we do not want / need a blog so I renamed the Menu title to News and edited the page to what we wanted. But, that page won’t display.
How do I either get the News page to display, or delete the Blog option from the menu?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Staff can view private blog content and I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

I did add modlook into the sidebar. When I go to post a new topic from the Help option there is no place to type in tags, just a subject and content. I had to wait for the topic to post before I could add a tag.

Thanks. I’ve been finding that there are more than a single way here to skin the proverbial cat, and none of them work the same way. ;D

Hi moderntheologian,
How do I either get the News page to display, or delete the Blog option from the menu?
‘News’ in your menu links through a page you created called News. That is working as expected.
At the moment your posts page is set to Blog. No posts have been created yet, so there is nothing to display on the Blog page.
Do you wish to create posts and have then display in the Blog section? Or do you only wish to have a single News page as you do now?
Once I know more I’ll be happy to help you out.

Hi,
News only. We do not want a blog for this site.
Ok, you can delete the Blog link from your Menu in Customizer > Menus. Clicking on the down arrow next to the menu item will expand the box to reveal a Remove link.
Let me know how you get on.

That did it, thanks, but this whole menu thing is very confusing. I thought what was below the header was the top menu, and what was at the bottom of the page was the footer menu, but the Blog I had to delete was in the Primary menu. Is there something in the theme or demo that shows which menu is which, and where each one appears?

Hi,
Is there something in the theme or demo that shows which menu is which, and where each one appears?
By default, there are four Custom Menu options in the Responsive theme:
- Primary menu – at the top of your site
- Second menu – underneath the primary menu
- Top menu – in the header
- Footer menu – at the bottom of your site
In addition to that, you can also add custom menus! There is a lot of choice :)
You have created a custom menu called ‘Menu 2’ — and set that to be your Primary menu. That’s the menu you wish to edit the menu at the very top of your site
The theme documentation page has more information about menus in the Responsive theme:
