Menu links and pictures in Dara theme
-
Hi. I created my page with the Dara theme. I was trying to figure out how to change the circle buttons to have pictures I wanted, but I can’t figure that out. Then, I deleted the first one, which looked like a link picture. I added one back and I can’t figure out how to link it to my home page, which is what I want. Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @cdangeloauthor ,
Currently, WordPress supports the following list of icons to be used in the buttons you are referring to.
Social Icons WidgetYou cannot replace these icons with an image of your choice. However, you can create a new widget with the link and image of your choice. @spliedt gives an overview of how to do something similar over on another post. If you are interested in doing this, let me know, and I will provide a set of instructions a little more customized to your situation.
Creating a link to your homepage is easy! From the left menu of your screen, got to “Customize”. Go to “Menus” and select the menu you have set as your “Social Menu”. Click “Add Items”. Then, from “Pages”, find your home page and press the plus (+) simbol. You should see a “custom link” added to the menu items in the left. You can then drag and drop each item to reorder your menu.
I hope this information helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello. Thank you very much! The link issue corrected itself but this is good to know. Yes I would love instructions for the social icons widget. This way I can make all four circles different?
Thanks so much,

Hi @cdangeloauthor ,
Glad to hear your link issue is fixed.
Now, I must apologize for the misunderstanding. The Dara theme has a “Social Links Menu” displayed in the header and footer of your page. These show the circle links (buttons) you were enquiring about. The icons on these links cannot be altered. So as long as they link to a WordPress page, you will see the WordPress logo displayed there.
I see you have your “Social Links Menu” linked to the 4 pages you also have listed in your primary menu. Though there is no problem doing this, it may not be utilizing the “Social Links Menu” to its fullest potential. You could think of your “Social Links Menu” as a menu to take your visitors to your SNS accounts, while your “Primary Menu” is to help your readers navigate around your site/blog. In your contacts page, I see you have listed links to your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. If you place these links in your “Social Links Menu”, the menu should show the logo for each of those services.

The custom image links I was talking about can only be applied to your widget area, not your Social Links Menu. So, I am afraid, it will not help you solve your problem. (I’m sorry for the misleading advice.)
The Dara theme supports widgets in your sidebar and your footer. It is possible to add a link in these areas with a custom image following the steps in the link I pasted above. But again, one cannot change the logo represented in the Social Links Menu that appears at the bottom of your site. Adding widgets to your footer will create a new area above your Social Links Menu and below the content of your page/post.
Let me know if you have any feedback. All the best!
