I am on ‘My Site’ under ‘Personalize’ i click on ‘Menu’. I am trying to add info to my menu under ‘Primary Navigation’ using the Menu ‘Bible’ and a red error box pops up saying ‘there was a problem saving your menu’. It then forces my site to ‘default menu’. I need the menu ‘Bible’ to save and not go to ‘default menu’ Can you please help? I need to add much more information to the menu ‘Bible’ get the entire book up so I can read in an organized way. (fyi: This is not a copyright book. It is in the public domain. )

I am using the most recent Chrome, 3rd party cookies were enabled but I cleared them and now is disabled, and javascript is enabled. I cleared cache and cookies and restarted. WordPress is still not saving. Is there a limit under my “menu”? For example: The menu I am trying to save is “Bible” On the format page under the menu “Bible” I have inserted “Home, Bible, Old Testament and New Testament.” Under the Old Testament, I have each book indented and saved up to Nehemiah. Under each book each chapter is indented. Being so many chapters and Books, is there a possible limit? If so can this be modified. I just recently have been experiencing this problem, and now it wont even save… it now just goes to default menu which only shows in formatting “home and about”.

Hello again, 3rd party cookies should be enabled in your browser.
As far as I know, there is a limit of how many menus can be active on a site at one time (theme dependent) but I don’t think there is a limit on how many menus or menu items you can create. (Of course there is a rational for keeping menu items limited for the sake of your site visitor’s sanity).
https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/For the theme you are using, Twenty Ten, there is one Primary menu only. At the moment on your site, I see “Home” and “About” in the navigation bar.
Are you creating this new menu in the Calypso dashboard or the WP Admin>Appearance dashboard? If in Calypso, did you already publish the pages you are adding to the menu or are you adding/creating them when you create the menu?

I’ve run across another user using the Twenty Ten theme who seems to have a similar issue so have tagged this for Staff assistance.
No need to post into the other thread as Staff will assist you here.

Hi @pcebible, how many menu items are you trying to add, total?
I don’t know of a specific limit on the number of menu items you can add. You might be hitting that limit if there is one.
But I do know that your users are going to have troubles with really large menus long before the server does. They won’t be able to see all menu items on a small phone, for example, or they’ll get frustrated navigating a series of drop downs.
I would recommend using pages (rather than posts) and giving each page a parent / child as needed. Then we can help you list those pages automatically with a shortcode. I think that will go better for your users. Let me know your thoughts.
