Menu not working on mobile device

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I’m just setting up a new blog and picked up a nice standard theme that has desktop and mobile layouts – Circa. However, when I view it on mobile (android using chrome) I cannot access the menu. Nothing happens when I hit any of the buttons (cannot access pages or social media buttons etc).

Any help if anyone has had a similar problem would be much appreciated, thanks.

    Hi there,

In order to use the Social Menu’s you need to put links of your social media profiles so it will work, for the tutorial to add social menu please visit https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/social-links-menu/

And I have tested the theme on mobile, and it works as a responsive theme,
can you tell us what is the thing which is not rendering properly for your site?
I have checked the menu and it’s also working properly.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi!

I took off the social media but it was behaving the same as the menu button. When I click the menu button on my mobile device, the menu just doesn’t show, it changes to a white as though it is active but I cannot see any of my pages. It seemed fine when I tested the mobile version from my desktop browser, but not on my actual mobile.

    Thanks,
    Lorraine

    Hi Loarraine,

I have checked your site again, when someone goes to your site even you visit your site you’d be able to see that “Privacy & Cookies” disclaimer at the bottom click on the “Close & Accept” option and try checking again, I am facing no issue with Menu from my phone.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

For further assistance can you please take a screenshot of the exact error you’re able to get on your mobile screen and share it with us here that could help to direct you properly with the issue.
Once you are ready with the screenshot just upload it to your Media Library and share the link with us here, or you can upload it on third-party sites Snag.gy, Droplr or CloudApp and share the link here with us.

    Take a Screenshot

    Hope this helps!

    @stevepromo,

Which browser did you use on your Andriod, I just checked it on Chrome it worked properly for me.

Retested the Theme and it behaves correctly. i.e. its something in your customization that’s causing the problem. Sorry I can’t be of more help. I think you need a Happiness Engineer to take a look.

I am adding modlook to this post in the tags section so someone from Staff’s can give you a response on this.

    Hi @stevepromo
In order to get Staff’s attention to the post, we add “modlook” tag in the tags section right-hand side box which is there on this post.

  • Hi there,

I tested it on an Android device with the latest version of Chrome and all three menu buttons work as expected.

Can you make sure that you’re running the latest version of Chrome and if so clear your its cache?

    Hi fstat,

I have the most up to date version and cleared the cache and still the same problem – when I click the menu button nothing shows up :(

I have downloaded firefox for mobile and that won’t fully load the page and again the menu button doesn’t work. I’ve also got my partner to check and they are unable to navigate to the other blog pages using chrome. They have the same phone model as me, so I asked someone else to check it out and they have the same problem, can click the buttons but no dropdown appears :(

    Hi fatbunny92,

I was able to replicate the error on our end and working with our developement team to see if we can get the cause tracked down. We’ll update you once it’s resolved.
