Menu on Mobile doesn't work

Greetings. I have been using the mobile menu plugin for some time, but it has recently stopped working.
I’m not really attached to it, but my theme’s menu never worked on mobile so I started using it instead.
The problem with my theme menu is that it there is just a grey text at the top-right corner. It’s unclickable. If I rotate the screen 90 degrees, the menu looks fine.
The problem with the mobile menu plugin is that it shows the menu button, but it is not interactive.
I don’t really care what method I use to show the menu as long as it is functional and responsive (and doesn’t mess up my good speedtest score). I just want to give users menu functionality. If you can choose either, I’d prefer native so I have one less plugin to worry about.
