Menu options and theme change

  Hi. I have a blog that I would like to make a little more organized and easy to navigate. Currently, I have a fixed front page with a long body of related text. I am in the process of adding a custom menu to the widgets area that appears in the right hand side of the page, entitled recent posts, where I will add new posts. That part I seem to have under control. Here’s what I need help with: I’m thinking about adding a menu with keywords or names that will bring the reader to specific places in the text on the fixed front page, somewhat like a table of contents with links to the appropriate places. I want to make it easier for readers to quickly see the overall contents of the front page, as well as make it easier for them to access specific information they might be interested in. If possible, I would like to add this menu as some kind of sidebar to the front page, perhaps on the left hand side. I am using the Penscratch 2 theme, but I am open to switching to another theme if that would be better. Any ideas?
