Menu, post, page?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
I’ve tried many different things and can’t seem to get it. I want tabs at the top of my site (Which I have made) but they aren’t working the way I want them to. Am I supposed to make menu’s (cause that erases everything at the top if I make a new menu??) How do I publish a post i’ve written to just a category from one of the top tabs? and why do I have a page or an uncategorized (which I don’t know why is showing at top of page either) post at top of page…super confused.
    HELP!!
    thanks :)

    Hi there,

I took a look at your menus, and see that you have created a menu for each of the things you want at the top of your site. With Custom Menus, what you want to do is to create a menu and then add all the menu items that you wish to show on that menu to that particular menu. Here is our support page on custom menus that you can review.

    Menus

You can add categories to that menu as well so that people can click on the category name and see all the posts in that category. That is covered in the link above also.

One note on categories. They will only appear to be added to the menu after there is at least one published post in the category.

The tabs currently at the top of your site are pages. Posts will not show on those pages. What you will want to do is to add the respective categories you have created to the menu. The following support page should help you with getting the categories onto your menu and explain a bit about them.
