Menu problem

  Hi. I am having a problem adding menu items. I have at present 86 menu items. Now, when I create new items all is fine until I try to save.
  The system will not save newly created menu items.
  I thought adding items would be never ending?
  Is there a limit?
  Hoping someone can help.
