Menu question
-
Hello, I have the free version of wordpress with the Kelly theme. I see that I can add a menu bar across the top of the page. I added about 6 of them for my business. However I want to be able to click on each menu item and it would route me to a page with the desired info from the title of that specific menu Item. But when I click on the it will not allow me to add a page and it only defaults back to the very first menu item called MY Story. I erased the other menu items and tried to add the Menu 2, Menu 3 and so on. That didn’t work the way I wanted to either. Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks for the help.

Hi,
But when I click on the it will not allow me to add a page and it only defaults back to the very first menu item called MY Story.
It sounds like you added custom links to a custom menu which were either all linked to “My Story,” or linked to nothing. Custom menu items can only link to URLs that exist. So, the thing to do is to create the pages first, then the menu items.
Note, however, that a Custom Menu allows you to conveniently link to dynamic Category Pages. If you intend to assign posts to various categories, and to provide convenient links to them in the header, then links to category pages in a custom menu is the way to go.
Alternatively, in the absence of a custom menu, the Kelly theme will display a default page menu that includes all published pages. Just publish the pages you want to see in the menu and they will appear there. If you decide to go this route, you’ll have to deactivate the custom menu to display instead the default page menu.
